Has anybody done research on such things earlier? Which option will give me better picture quality? My TV is 50” plasma with native resolution of 1366×768

There is a faint line going from bottom to top horizontal on my Plasma TV. I have a 50 inch HD ready. It has to be something with the TV cause even on the HD channels it is still there. Thanks for any input.
